How is the GHS amount calculated?
The GHS equivalent is calculated using the Bank of Ghana interbank exchange rate at the time of payment. The rate is refreshed regularly and may change month to month. Your invoice will always show both the USD and GHS amounts together with the rate applied.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed via Paystack, which supports mobile money (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo), bank cards (Visa, Mastercard), and bank transfers. All transactions are processed in GHS.
Can I change my plan after signing up?
Plans are tied to your account type (individual or organisation), which is set at registration. If you need to change account type, please contact our support team at hello@mdoi.org and we will assist you.
What happens to my identifiers if I don't renew?
MDOI is committed to identifier persistence. Published identifiers will continue to resolve after a lapsed subscription while we work to contact you for renewal. However, you will lose dashboard access and the ability to register new identifiers until your subscription is active again.
Is there a free trial?
We do not currently offer a free trial period. However, the fee structure is intentionally low to ensure access for individual researchers and smaller institutions. If affordability is a concern, please reach out to discuss options.
Are invoices available for institutional accounting?
Yes. Every successful payment generates a printable invoice available in your billing dashboard. Invoices include the invoice number, billing period, USD amount, GHS amount, and the exchange rate applied.
